Recently, Mailchimp announced a new partnership that allows users of its email marketing software to directly integrate with Shopify's industry-leading eCommerce platform.
This integration enables new and existing users of both Mailchimp and Shopify to connect their email marketing platform to their eCommerce storefront without the need for third-party tools.
As Joni Deus, VP of Mailchimp’s app marketplace, explains in a press release , the integration will enable Mailchimp and Shopify customers to improve their marketing efforts in advance of the busy Black Friday/Cyber Monday (BFCM) holiday shopping season .
“Last year, Mailchimp customers generated 36% more orders from Thanksgiving to Giving Tuesday than they did in 2019, showing just how important having an online presence for commerce and retail businesses really is,” Deus says.
“We’re thrilled to have partnered with Shopify again ahead of our customers’ busiest season to make it easier for merchants to reach their customers, sell more stuff, and be successful.”
“As our merchants prepare for the holiday season and continue to adjust to the new realities of commerce, we're excited to welcome Mailchimp to the Shopify Partner Ecosystem,” says Fatima Yusuf , director of commercial, app ecosystem at Shopify.
"The combined power of Mailchimp's suite of marketing tools and Shopify's robust commerce infrastructure will level the playing field and unlock even more opportunity for independent businesses to grow and succeed into the future.”
The integration was facilitated by Mailchimp’s acquisition of ShopSync, a third-party application that enabled users to easily sync information—like customer data, product info, orders, and more—from their Shopify stores to Mailchimp.
Email marketing is one of the most cost-effective ways for eCommerce merchants to drive traffic to their online stores. Successful email marketing campaigns can help merchants build brand awareness and increase conversions. With a return on investment (ROI) of 38-to-1 , an effective approach to email is a key component of any well-rounded eCommerce marketing strategy.
The Mailchimp/Shopify integration will make it easier for merchants to combine purchase and marketing data to create more impactful marketing campaigns that “drive conversions, increase revenue, and reach more customers at the right point of their buying journey.
As a certified Shopify partner , Codal can help you learn more about its integration capabilities and how they can enable your business to create a well-rounded marketing strategy.
