The Codal team recently wrapped up an incredible few days at Asembia’s AXS25 Summit in Las Vegas, one of the biggest annual events in the specialty pharmacy space. Held from April 27 - May 1, 2025 at the Wynn, this premier event brought together hundreds of industry leaders in attendance, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, specialty and retail pharmacies, technology providers, logistics partners, legal advisors, and more. It was a packed schedule of meetings, sessions, and networking, all centered around a common goal of improving how patients get the medications they need.

AXS25: A hub for collaboration and innovation

Asembia's AXS25 Summit lived up to its reputation as a cornerstone event for the specialty pharmacy industry. Over several intensive days, attendees engaged in a multitude of meetings, insightful sessions, and invaluable networking opportunities. The collective focus remained steadfast: how can we, as an industry, work together to optimize the delivery of essential medications to the patients who need them most? The breadth of attendees underscored the interconnected nature of this vital sector.

Our team actively participated in numerous sessions and explored the lively exhibitor halls, identifying several key trends that are poised to significantly impact the specialty pharmacy landscape:


Integrated patient support solutions are gaining ground

Across many sessions and booths there was a focus on creating connected ecosystems that streamlines everything from onboarding to adherence. Capabilities such as patient hubs, tech-driven services, and co-pay assistance platforms are becoming critical parts of specialty pharmacy, while emphasizing ease of access and personalization.

Real-time data and advanced analytics drive better decisions

Organizations like IQVIA, Claritas Rx, and ConcertAI highlighted how capabilities such as data consolidation, machine learning, and predictive analytics are modernizing pharmacy workflows and outcomes. Stakeholders are seeking platforms that offer not just visibility but actionable insights to improve outcomes while managing cost.

Specialty pharma is demanding agile, scalable digital infrastructure

There’s a growing need for flexible tech stacks that can support everything from CRM integrations to patient portals, provider dashboards, and regulatory compliance. Many conversations centered around API-first platforms, cloud-native apps, and modular architecture to support rapid iteration and compliance alignment.

The cold chain and logistics space is becoming more digitized

Companies like Cold Chain Technologies and Sonoco ThermoSafe shared how IoT tracking, digital documentation, and temperature monitoring software are reshaping the pharma logistics space. Visibility, security, and automation in medication transport are no longer nice-to-haves and are essential.

Innovation is happening through partnerships

One of the most encouraging trends we saw was a strong appetite for collaboration. Pharmacies, pharma companies, and tech providers are coming together earlier in the process to co-create solutions instead of working in silos. Codal had several engaging conversations with both current and prospective clients around forward-looking initiatives like virtual pharmacies, white-labeled pharmacy solutions, B2B-specific purchasing experiences, and how to better democratize access to medications through more streamlined fulfillment models. These discussions reinforced just how essential strong digital partners are in helping organizations think bigger and move faster.

Asembia 2025 provided a fertile ground for meaningful connections and insightful discussions. Our team hosted a successful happy hour event, in which we called “Rx Reimagined: Transforming Care Through Technology” fostering engaging conversations with industry experts centered around critical areas for digital innovation. We focused on how user analytics can be leveraged to enhance customer experience through improved speed and efficiency, strategies to reduce the significant prescription processing expenses associated with clarifications and prior authorizations, and methods to lower the cost of customer support for routine inquiries like order status and prescription intake.

Given Codal's deep expertise in Agentic AI, there was significant interest in how our solutions can simultaneously achieve the dual goals of decreasing overall customer support costs while significantly improving customer satisfaction and service quality.
We also gained valuable insights into how industry leaders are strategizing to create new and simplified workflows for the virtual pharmacy experience, with a strong emphasis on enabling users to seamlessly place orders within just a few intuitive steps of engaging the eCommerce platform. The focus on user-centric design and streamlined processes resonated strongly with our own approach to digital transformation.

Clario

Clario partnered with Codal for WordPress expertise to build and maintain their website, which showcases their clinical trial solutions and data management capabilities. Codal ensures the website remains up-to-date and provides ongoing enhancements, supporting Clario's 24/7 guidance services that have contributed to the launch of over 800 new drugs.

Stryker

Codal developed a modern and intuitive B2B eCommerce website for Stryker on BigCommerce to boost customer engagement and sales, featuring different pricing lists for various customers and pay-on-terms functionality within a theme-based design. The project focused on a seamless user experience with integrations for Marketo and SAP HANA.

Baxter

Codal partnered with Baxter to develop a mobile app that transforms medical device data into actionable insights. This app helps Baxter's sales representatives improve customer service by assisting hospitals in monitoring device performance, optimizing usage, and enhancing patient treatment in intensive care units.
