Every year, hundreds of food and beverage and personal care brands gather in Philadelphia for Natural Products Expo East. From plant-based meat alternatives, to gluten-free banana bread, to organic toothpaste, NPEE showcases the most innovative natural products in the world—products that are changing the way people think about food consumption, dieting, environmental sustainability, individual wellness, and so on.

Several Codal employees attended this year’s NPEE to explore new innovations and connect with the biggest brands in the natural products industry. In addition to walking the floor of the show, we hosted a Happy Hour at a local beer garden with our partners Klaviyo, Avalara, Feedonomics, and Gorgias, where we chatted with various stakeholders about their business’ existing technology stack, pain points, and goals for the future.

Our team has planned and executed eCommerce transformations for several brands in the natural products space, such as RegimenPro—a company that provides personalized skincare products and routines to patients through an online portal.

We also built a DTC eCommerce storefront for Garrett Popcorn—the world-famous popcorn retailer from Chicago—where customers can quickly and intuitively browse products, send gifts to multiple recipients under a single order, and even customize their own unique tins of popcorn. For this project, we received an award for Best User Experience & Design from BigCommerce.

The amplification of all-natural, organic, and eco-friendly products has become a universal trend in the food and beverage industry. But simply showcasing those labels and certifications on your products and website is not enough. To maintain a competitive advantage in the natural products space, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers need modern digital solutions that enable them to better connect with their customers and operate more efficiently.

After several years of growth—getting their products into various retail stores, setting up a website, and listing products on Amazon—many brands experience a plateau in sales, and struggle to take their business to the next level. They want to attract new customers, increase brand loyalty, expand to new markets, and ultimately sell more products, but they’re held back by an outdated UX, limited order fulfillment capabilities, heavily manual workflows, and a long list of other issues.

As a UX design and eCommerce agency, Codal designs, develops, tests, launches, and manages cutting-edge digital solutions for businesses in the natural products industry. Starting with an in-depth Discovery process, our team learns about the business, its customers, competitors, and technological infrastructure, then builds and implements tools to improve customer engagement, drive internal efficiencies, and boost revenue. We also provide ongoing maintenance and support to ensure the long-term success of our products.

The Codal team includes some of the world’s brightest designers, engineers, and digital strategists. We’re also partners with many leading eCommerce technology providers, namely Shopify and BigCommerce.

Our team crafts digital solutions that solve real business challenges. With powerful tools, industry expertise, and a data-driven approach, we’ll help build a truly omnichannel customer experience for your natural products brand.

As we’ve done many times in the past, Codal can optimize your online store’s conversion rate, migrate it to a new eCommerce platform, enable B2B sales with a self-service portal, deploy internal solutions that automate time-consuming workflows, build data-visualization dashboards that help you better understand your customers, and much more.
